Some CEREC Connect cases

We do a lot of single unit CEREC Connect cases, but we also do plenty of multi-unit cases that have been very successful. Here are some pictures.

Sneak peak at the new implant abutment software from Sirona!

Coming this summer is a new implant abutment software from Sirona for the inLab MCXL. Sirona inLab laboratories will now have the ability to mill the custom abutment and immediatly mill an all-ceramic material (such as e.max) to finish the restoration all in one shot. This technique is called the top down design technique. Simply put, the CAD technician will design the restoration as full contour crown, simply presses a button and the restoration reduces to the abutment design.

IPS e.max (Lithium Discilicate Glass)

It is here! Well, it has been here for about 2 years now but we are still very excited about this material. When we get to talk to groups of labs and/or dentists we talk a lot about the journey the industry has taken to finally come up with an all-ceramic material that is not only esthetic, but strong. All-ceramic materials like the porcelain jacket crown, the cerestor system, the dicor system, and even empress were all esthetically pleasing, but they all lacked in strength. My Dad's porcelain jacket crowns lasted for about a month, a month!  While ... << MORE >>

The Doctor then explains why he chose to utilize CEREC Connect for this particular case and the results. Enjoy. Welcome to the Precision Dental Arts Blog!

Welcome to the Precision Dental Arts Blog!  We are a cutting edge dental laboratory located in Tigard, Oregon that specializes in all-ceramic milled restorations and digital dentistry.  We have been milling all-ceramic material on our Sirona inLab system for over 5 years and recently dove into digital dentistry with CEREC Connect.  As advocates for Sirona we have been around the country telling our story and listening to the stories of others.  As we traveled we learned that there isn't very much information available to those Dentists and Dental Labs that are leading this shift to digital dentistry, it is kind of like a trial and error process for those of us on the cutting edge.  Thus, we decided to start this blog to open up the lines of communication between those cutting edge Dentists and Dental Labs around the country to better ourselves and those that follow this blog.

We will be updating this blog with:
  • How to's
  • Tips, hints, and shortcuts
  • Our experiences
  • Your experiences
  • Breaking News on new products and materials
  • and more!

This Blog is meant to be interactive, meaning we hope you can add to these discussions, share your experinces (good or bad), comment on materials, etc...
We want this blog to be a place where you can come to get answers and share answers.

  • When you have a question you need answered, you simply email  this blog at blog@precisiondentalarts-online.com and I will post your question on the blog for others to see and respond to!
  • If there is a topic/material/product you want covered, simply email this blog!
  • If you need anything, simply email this blog!

Thank you for your participation in advance!
